Can you even believe its 2008?! I guess I better stock up on the “White Out” this month. Wonder how much I’ll use before I start writing “08” automatically. I’m shooting for February; but that’s a lofty goal. The renewal underwriters are used to it already. They work on accounts sometimes up to 3 months in advance, so by the time January comes around, they can pass along their leftover “White Out” to those of us in accounting, who typically get frowned upon for doing work in the wrong year. Speaking of lofty goals, isn’t that the same thing as a New Year’s resolution? I asked around to see if anybody here had any unusual resolutions this year. Most of us resolved NOT to resolve again this year. A couple of people resolved to drink and eat less so they are like 92.9974% of the rest of Americans. Susan joked that she resolves to drink more. I’m thinking she needs to hang out with the “drink less” crowd so she has more for herself and a few designated drivers. Jerry told me that he resolves to be more selfless of others needs. Isn’t that nice? But being the typical jokster that he is, he threw in “as long as it doesn’t interfere with my plans.” It took me a minute to figure out that he wasn’t serious. Everybody else around here just looked at me with a blank stare so I threw out an idea for them: Stop procrastinating in 2008. I’ll let you know if we ever get around to doing that.
