In The Office by Michele Kennedy

Numerologically speaking, 2008 is going to be a lucky year. 2+8=10 and 1+0 = 1 and 1 is very lucky. But if you ask those "glass-half-empty experts" 2008 could prove to be a year of devastation. I read that a huge hurricane is predicted to wipe out Miami this year and that Brangelina will split up. We'll find another planet, gas prices will average over $3.50 per gallon and tragedy will befall upon the Beijing Olympics. I asked around the office for some 2008 predictions to see if we have any clairvoyant vibes floating around here. Nobody went into a trance nor did anybody's eyes roll back in their heads. I have to say I was a little disappointed. I guess our bright fluorescent lighting and frequently ringing phone and/or fax doesn't really lend itself to a conducive psychic experiment. Lindsay and Chris Boylan predict that Hillary will be our next president. Dwight believes Mizzou will be ranked number one in college football. Teresa (our resident JT watcher) thinks Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel will last through 2008 and Brittany will lose all custody of her kids. I asked Mary what she thought the economy would do. Mary replied with a heavy sigh that she didn't even want to go there. I'm trying to be a "glass-half-full" person. I'm predicting that 2008 will provide us the opportunity to build character, both as a nation and as individuals. Does that sound like a politician's answer or what?! Speaking of politics, I predict with 100% certainty that we'll have a new president in 2008... and if you add just a bit more liquid, your glass will err on the "half full" side.
