We've been going through a metamorphosis of sorts in our Professional Liability department because ACE Westchester has been on a vigorous quest to offer the best choice for technology E&O coverage in the current market; and most of Stuckey & Company's Professional Liability policies are written through them. We all know how rapidly technology changes and insurance coverage needs to adapt to those advancements equally as swiftly. As little as ten years ago, technology was archaic compared to current gadgets and gizmos. Computer, network, and technology consultants were not mainstream like they are today. It's no wonder those professionals had limited choices for their Errors and Omission coverage because most policies were written as surplus lines, which often translates to higher premium, limited coverage, taxes and fees. ACE is changing the name of the game. Recently, ACE adopted new, enhanced forms which offer electronic media liability, intellectual property, defense outside limits and other optional coverages which are now written on admitted paper in most states! How does this affect us at Stuckey and Company? Our Professional Liability team has been scrambling to learn everything there is to know about the new coverage forms so they can explain the difference between the old forms and the new forms. Dwight has had to re-program the new forms into our database and has worked closely with Maggie, Chris, Rachel and Susan to tweak the system to be able to quote and issue them correctly. It has been a major project and a major accomplishment. Maggie Hammett, who leads our Professional Liability team, was named February's Employee of the Month because of her diligence and dedication to this project. She has been with Stuckey and Company since 2000 and our Senior Underwriter since 2002. Maggie has an invaluable wealth of knowledge about the ACE program. She is honest, straightforward, meticulous and she makes sure that all the other underwriters have the tools they need to get the job done correctly.
