Have you ever gotten that email asking you to identify people who remind you of a color and then, depending on what color you choose, it reveals what that person means to you subconsciously? I don't remember the exact meaning for each color but that got me to thinking about what color I would assign to people in our office, according to how I interpret their overall demeanor and personality. (I have a lot of down time at home). For example, a dominant personality might get a red in my book and someone predominantly laid-back, might be a green. Of course, most people are a mix of colors, but there is one person here who is 100% yellow and that is Mary. In fact, I refer to her as "Mary Sunshine" because she radiates with positive energy, inner strength and warmth. Mary was named our March Employee of the Month. She has been with Stuckey and Company for four years in our accounting department. Her desk is situated so that she is the first person we all see when we come in and there has not been one day in four years, that I can remember, when Mary hasn't greeted us with a gentle smile. I've learned a lot from her. I really admire her ability to talk and communicate. I listen to the way she speaks to agents, especially when she has something less-than-pleasant to discuss. She's very professional while she clearly states what needs to happen in order to fix the problem. Yet she's also personable and dependable and I think people respond positively to her because she does care and that comes across in everything that she says and does. One of the advantages or disadvantages (depending on how you look at it) to working in the accounting department is that mistakes are black and white and in print so statistics are concrete. And evidence proves that Mary rarely makes mistakes. Her attendance is remarkable and she speaks kindly of everyone. I rely on her advice both professionally and personally. She is just one of those people who has her head on straight...except when she tilts it ever so slightly and dazzles us with that famous smile.
