About two years ago, I stopped drinking the water here at Stuckey and Company.
Teresa, Maggie, Kelly, Mary's daughter, and our Hartford Rep, Tracey, were
all due to have their babies within 6 weeks of each other. How strange is
that?! For a nominal fee, we reserved dates on the calendar and whoever
guessed the correct due date won all the money. I figured with five babies,
that's pretty good odds. But, I didn't win anything. I can't even remember
who did. Anyway, we haven't had many in-office gambling opportunities since
then. I think there was a Super Bowl chart and something about a Final Four
bracket, but I don't understand that stuff, so I was excited when Rachel
announced her pregnancy. Picking a date isn't quite as complicated as keeping
track of game scores. On March 24, 2007, pretty little "Autumn Marie" decided
to greet the world. I didn't win again. Shelli won the office pool and she
graciously donated her winnings to the new baby. I'm thinking that since
there are no similar contests on the horizon and it's all in good fun, I'll
start one called: "Who will be the next new Mommie?" $1 chance to win - and
you can bet I'll be keeping my eye on the water cooler.
