Anybody else got spring fever? We literally had fever plaguing us around here recently, but Kyle took the prize for getting walking pneumonia!  And I thought he just had a little too much fun over the weekend. No, the fever I’m talking about causes one to be antsy and  thirsty for tropical beverages and requires rest and relaxation, preferably while reclining in a lawn chair next to a bed of bright pink tulips as birds chirp and the sun warms the soul. Since Easter was so early this year, and since the weather in St. Louis has been cold and rainy and downright gloomy,  we seem to have an epidemic of spring fever lately.  In fact, if the sun ever stays out for more than a day this month, we may have to participate in a formal celebration. I asked everybody what they planned on doing the first day that’s warm and sunny. Maggie, Mary, Terri and Lindsay plan to either do some gardening or work in the yard. Chris and Kyle will take their dogs to the park. Kerry and Dwight will go golfing. Libby wants to BBQ and Nikki will wash her car. Teresa will watch her two toddlers run around outside until their legs fall off. Rachel will go horse back riding and I will recline in a lawn chair and sip tropical beverages.  Most people, when asked this question, really had to think hard about their answer. I guess it’s been so long since we’ve had the opportunity to actually enjoy the weather. Either that or they didn’t want to give away what they’ll be doing when they call in sick with “fever” on the first warm, sunny day this spring… which won’t work for Kyle. He has an antibiotic.
