Father's day is coming up and since my dad already has a short sleeve
polo-type shirt for every color in a standard crayon box, I am completely
out of gift ideas. Mother's day is always easy for me. Take Mom out to a
big buffet lunch, come back to the house to give her the pretty bag filled
with the soft cotton pajamas and slippers (the standard annual gift for
mom and grandma), and we girls talk quietly while all the males in the
house lie on the floor snoring. Very predictable. I asked around the
office to see how others spend their Mother's days. Lindsay had a great
story. She went with her parents to a restaurant and while they were
waiting for the food, they sipped cocktails. Lindsay's mom rarely consumes
alcohol and the food took quite a while (apparently everybody goes to a
restaurant on Mother's Day) so after a couple of drinks and some dancing,
her mom fell asleep and they had to get their food served in To-Go boxes.
I'm not sure if Lindsay's mom ever ate her Mother's Day dinner or not.
I can't wait to hear about her Father’s day plans.
